# The Checkout domain stays shop.mozimo.in
`shop.mozimo.in` remains attached to Shopify as the domain that serves Checkout. The Theme store's **pages** are retired and redirected to mozimo.in; the **domain** is not.
The Cart API returns a `checkoutUrl` on the store's primary domain, verified empirically to be `https://shop.mozimo.in/cart/c/<token>`. Redirecting the whole domain to mozimo.in would therefore redirect buyers away from their own checkout and break every purchase. The URL tracks store-level domain configuration rather than the host the API is called on, so it cannot be steered by changing where requests are sent.

## Considered Options
- **Move Checkout to its own subdomain** (e.g. `checkout.mozimo.in`) so `shop.mozimo.in` can be 301'd wholesale. Rejected: it requires changing the store's primary domain and re-verifying everything downstream of the checkout URL, trading real outage risk for a cosmetic win — the buyer sees a brand-owned subdomain either way.
## Consequences
- "Retire the theme store" means retiring its storefront pages, never the domain. Any ticket phrased as "301 `shop.mozimo.in`" is wrong.
- The redirect must exclude Cart and Checkout paths.
